You can register your school through our website, www.smart-schools.com. You only need an e-mail address to start, and in less than 10 minutes, your platform will be created.
Settings has two steps: first, during the register process, in which you shall inform about the administrative details of the school (address, telephone…) and the academic information (stages, classifications…); and the second, once your school is active, you have to give access to all the users, assign permits, send credentials and set up the lessons and timetables.
Yes, users can be imported from files that have been created by regional governments (Seneca, etc…) or directly from Smart Schools files. The data import can be done right after registration or later. Students, parents and enrollments will be imported to a different file than the teaching staff. On the import screen you will find an informative video
If you import a file with already existing data, the data will be updated.
Yes, you can add users in Smart Schools. Go to the Users admnistration menu and click on Add users.
Users will be activated once you import them through the Users administration. Previously, users have to register an e-mail account in Smart Schools, so the username and password will be sent to that e-mail account. After, users will confirm their account in Smart Schools.
Yes, but students’ activation don’t need an e-mail address as the credentials will be sent directly to their parents.
To activate a user in Smart Schools, school staff or parents need to enter an e-mail address, name, surname and Identity Card Number; however, students only need name and surname.
They receive the credentials through the e-mail address. Students don’t receive their credentials but their parents. The first time they access to Smart Schools, users need to go through a verification process.
Yes, once the credentials are sent, access to Smart Schools will be automatic. The first time you have access, you will have to go through a verification process as a security measure.
The first time you have access to Smart Schools, you will need the code of the school to verify your identity. If you don’t know the code, please ask your Smart Schools administrator.
The authorisations are managed through Roles. Each user can belong to one or more roles. Individual authorisations can’t be issued.
No, roles can not be created or deleted.
All users can have access to Smart Schools from their mobile device. The Smart Schools app is available for free in Google Play, and soon in App Store.
Only those users with a management role can have access through Smart Schools website. These users are: administrator, principal, head of studies, secretaries, managers and classroom tutors. Teachers, parents or students can’t have access through the website.
Click in your picture or name, both in the website or the app. Then go to your profile and check all your details.
You can check other users details through the website. Go to “Users List” and click on the user’s name. You can also check them through their own profile in the app.
Circular letters and communications can be sent through the web option Online Secretary - Communications/Circular letters. The sending option allows you to choose as a recipient, all the school users, as well as the stages, courses, classes, roles and users. If you use the filters, you can choose among teachers, parents and/or students. If you want to send a circular letter, you can add the file and send it by e-mail.
The authorizations are sent through the web option Online Secretary - Authorizations. This option allows you to choose stages, courses, classes, roles or users. If you use the filters, you can choose between teachers and/or parents.
Teachers can manage the absences from Smart Schools app, while administrators can do it through the website.
Absences automatically create a notification in the mobile application addressed to the student’s parents.
You won’t be able to check the attendance: when you haven’t entered your timetable, when you don’t have access as a teacher in any subject, or when students are not enrolled in your subject.
Grades are exclusively managed through the mobile app. Each teacher has to manage the subject’s grades from his/her own teacher’s notebook.
You can’t grade students when you don’t have access to that subject as a teacher or when you are a student who has not been enrolled yet. Please talk to the Smart Schools administrator.
Both the grades and the report cards have to be notified through the mobile app. This action will generate a notification that parents can check.
Tutors can arrange a meeting with all his/her student’s parents through the mobile app. They will receive a notification that they must accept.
You can manage tasks and exams from the website. They will be automatically notified to all the students of that subject and their parents.
Go to My Timetables. Teachers have to inform the timetable of each class. Timetables are required to manage the students’ attendance.
You won’t be able to add your timetable in Smart Schools if the time range is not specified. Please, talk to the person in charge at your school.
You can check, add or delete events from your agenda through the mobile app.
Agenda events automatically create a notification to all the users that are addressed in the event. The recipients will vary depending on the event. Please see help section in the app.
You can’t create incidences if your students are not enrolled in the subject or you don’t have access as a teacher of that subject. Please talk to the Smart Schools administrator.
Yes, go to your profile, both website and app, and change your password from settings.
You can reset your password from the app home screen or the website login page.
Probably you logged out. If you don’t log in, you can’t see the notifications.
Probably your mobile phone notifications are disabled. Check notifications settings and unable them.
You can’t do the registration by yourself. Users have to get registered by the administrator in the school.
You will receive an e-mail with your access details. You will also receive the access details of your children.
The school only needs your e-mail to activate your user.
You can have access to Smart Schools from our mobile app. Please download the app from Google Play or Apple Store.
Yes, but the first time you have access to Smart Schools, will have to validate your user, answering a question related to your children.
No, only the administrators can have access to Smart Schools from computers.
You can check your user details through your picture or name on the profile option.
You can check your children’s details through the app.
You will receive a notification every time you get communications, authorizations or circular letters. You can have access to this information through the mobile app, where you can also confirm or accept this information.
You will receive a notification when the teacher reports an absence from your children. You can confirm the absence directly from the mobile app. You can also check your children’s absences from his/her profile.

You will receive a notification whenever the grades are published. You can check this information from the mobile app or from your children’s profile.
You can plan a tutoring with your children’s tutor, through the tutoring app option by notifying them automatically. The tutor has to plan the tutoring through the Smart Schools mobile app.
You can check your children’s tasks and exams through the Smart Schools app.
